I’m generally disappointed with my unit. Since I purchased it less than two years ago, I have experienced too many technical issues that cause it to malfunction. Today, I called because the furnace stopped working, but it started back on its own before the technician arrived. The technician ran a diagnostic that costed money and found no issues. So now I have paid, still don’t know the cause and therefore cannot fix. It is considered a high performing unit but it behaves like a dud. Too many “electrical issues” can stop the unit from working altogether. I feel stuck waiting for the next failure. Frustrating.

After last summer I knew I needed a new air conditioner. I read several positive reviews for White Heating and then received a strong recommendation for them from someone I respected. I called White Heating for an estimate and they came right away and gave what I thought was a reasonable estimate. The installation went well. The team of three worked hard and even prepped my basement before starting. I’d fallen the week before and could barely stand let alone move boxes and etc around. They took care of everything and finished the job on schedule. Everything was tested and reviewed before they left. I couldn’t be happier with my new AC. Thanks White!

I had an emergency. My old furnace was leaking carbon monoxide. I called White Heating Wednesday at midnight, then left the house to go to a hotel. Thursday morning, Gary came to present information on a new furnace and air conditioner. I accepted the bid and Friday morning, Keith and Shawn came to install my new furnace. I cant thank them enough for responding so quickly and efficiently, as this week was the coldest in a decade! Thank you!!!

White Heating installed our original unit in our new home in 1994. It serviced and maintained that unit perfectly till 2015. A much improved HE Lennox System replaced the former and we’ve had super satisfactory results with both White Heating and Lennox.

I have used White Heating several times in the past at another residence and was always satisfied something has obviously has changed. My furnace quit working Wednesday night I called Thursday morning and told the person on the phone exactly what was wrong with it and the part number of the defective part. She told me the soonest they could come was Friday morning. Mind you overnight temperatures are in the single digits. The technician showed up at 9:00 right on time he checked out the furnace and replaced the part that I told them was bad. My complaint is the part cost $175 but I was charged $714 I understand they have to make money to stay in business but come on. They just came and replaced the part that I told them was bad, they didn’t come in the middle of the night it was a regular service call so $99 diagnostic fee plus $175 for the part that I could get myself but would have to wait a week because I can’t purchase it locally because I’m not a contractor, so I got charged an extra $440. I realize I could have said no and just paid the $99 for coming to the house but we got to have heat. This is just a case of we got you by the balls because it so cold .

Called White about my AC that quick working in the summer. It was explained that there was a $100 service fee for a technician to come out. I explained that my AC unit was mfg in 1998 and asked if the could service a unit that old. She said they would have to come and look at it. Again, I reminded her of the age of the unit and asked again if they serviced units that old. Again, she replied, ‘we’ll have to come look at it’. Needless to say, the technician showed up and told me it was too old to service and then handed me a bill for $100. He then estimated the price of a new air-conditioning unit to be between $10,000 and $12,000 but a sales person would have to come to my house to go over options and provide a formal quote.
Needless to say I had a new AC unit installed for $4500 by a different contractor.

I was initially very satisfied with the service provided by White Heating; The technician was very kind, knowledgeable, showed up early, AND even assisted in selecting a replacement piece I needed from the Home Depot website. The tech said that I could get this replacement part needed much cheaper from Home Depot and picked out the exact pump, which I placed for order immediately that day. I did confirm with the tech that they would in fact be able to come back and install the piece once it was delivered. However, after a few days of back and forth in an attempt to now get this piece fixed, they are now denying they ever offered this and will not be coming to install a piece that is bought from a store and will only install theirs (which is a few hundreds of dollars more). I would have not ever known how to select this part myself had they not offered. I am extremely disappointed as I was so satisfied with how things were going at first but now I have no choice but to reflect on the situation. Unfortunately, White Heating does not hold true to their word, I have wasted money and time.

Gary, the president of White Heating, came out to do an estimate when we wanted a second opinion about repairing some ductwork- the previous business we contacted had quoted us hundreds of dollars. I reached out to White Heating due to my furnace not turning on. I spoke with Jen who promptly got me scheduled with a technician, Shawn, who was very friendly and professional. Shawn cleaned out my furnace exhaust and got our furnace up and running in no time. He was also very considerate of our cats that were wandering around him while working. We thought one of our cats got out while the work was being done, so I called Jen and she had Shawn call me, Shawn helped me with where he thought my cat might be. We ended up finding him and Jen texted me to make sure we found him. That text made me a client for life, just remembering that I had called and checking in with me shows that they actually care. I have been a loyal customer of White Heating for several years without any issues until this year. This summer, when my AC failed to cool the house, I contacted them for a service check. They diagnosed that the AC needed more coolant and provided a quote of over $1,000 for the refill, which seemed excessively high to me. As a result, I declined their quote and opted for another service that refilled the coolant for $300.
Recently, my wife reached out to them to schedule a furnace tune-up. During the call, they expressed that they felt mistreated because I had not accepted their previous quote and displayed a negative attitude. They ultimately refused to provide any further services. I believe that as a customer, it's reasonable to seek fair pricing. Given this experience, I am compelled to look for another company that offers better service at more reasonable prices.

I have a heat pump that the air conditioning was not working. When Myles showed up he went right to work. He showed up prompt in the time frame that I was told. He went over everything that he was doing so I understood what might be the cause. After the problem was found and fixed. Myles tested the system to be sure it was working properly. There prices were reasonable. I will be using them for future maintenance on my heat pump.

I just had White Heating do an annual checkup of our HVAC system. Shawn, one of their service techs, arrived right on time and did a thorough professional job of checking both heating and cooling as well as any cleaning that needed to be done. He reported to me that all parameters were what there were supposed to be and the system should be good for another year even though it is already 16 years old. I have used White Heating for 8 years since we bought this condo and have been totally satisfied with their service.

Called White Heating Inc. on a 95° Saturday morning to place a service call for our A/C unit. Technician Kevin (courtesous & knowledgeable) was at our house a mere 2.5 hours later and fixed the compressor within a half an hour. Can't say enough good things about White Heating Inc.! 👍

I was not going to post but White Heating has sent a couple of request that I post so I will oblige them. I have used White Heating in the past without issue. The last two years, occurrence in 2022 and most recently this week (June 2024), were perhaps the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I have encountered. In 2022, the air conditioner coil went bad. It happens. They dispatched a service person who was stellar. Mid job, he was pulled away for another job and replaced by a young man who shouldn’t be servicing AC solo. Nothing against the service man - he simply did not have the training under his belt to fly solo. For quite some time, a he waited out by the condenser for assistance. Someone came and walked him thru it. My issue with it - we were build hourly. Not pleasant.
Final breakpoint - Last weekend (6/16) we had water coming thru our ceiling and down the plaster walls. We went into attic and the secondary pan was overflowing. The secondary float switch was mounted high enough that the water hit the top of the pan before pushing the goat high enough to shut the ac off. I went down to White Heating and shared pictures of the float switch, bubbled paint in two rooms (wall / ceiling) and asked where we go from here? The people I spoke with were nice. The gentleman pushed back a little but couldn’t really push back much re: the float switch was operable but failed due to being mounted improperly. The gentleman said, he would talk to Gary “newer” owner and have him call me in the morning. The next day, no calls! The day after, Gary didn’t have the motivation to pick up the phone and reach out to his customer , so he had the gentleman i spoke with call me back. Long story short, they didn’t care nor consider any possible responsible for anything without even coming to the site to look at it. We got all the general tap dancing…. None of the verbiage relates or ties back to the fact that White Heating opted to install a flimsy float switch and not a secondary drain line on the pan as the Lennox manual state as a must for all AC above a finished room/area. First time we haven’t had a secondary drain line on the ac. When I asked why a secondary drain line was not installed, I was told it is redundant. I thought that was the entire point of it - a redundancy fail safe. They mentioned maybe there wasn’t enough pitch or fall. Which can’t be as the units in the past (prior to white heating) all had a secondary drain line which worked flawlessly and the house hasn’t changed. I have someone else coming to get that corrected. Stuff happens, but when it is of this magnitude and you just spent ~ $7k with them over the past 6 yrs - you would think they would have the courtesy to stop by (1.1 miles from shop) and look at it before denying any possibility they might carry some responsibility for it.
So, end result, a 95 degree week and long waits for service - I schedule my last service request with white heating to simply get the unit back online. The service man arrived, bent down, picked up the float switch and said, I will mount it properly, plus install a new device that sits in the secondary pan and clear the drain line. Time to move on…. as my opinion (based on past few yrs) is the current ownership at White Heating doesn’t value the customer.

Long story short, they didn’t care nor consider any possible responsible for anything without even coming to the site to look at it. We got all the general tap dancing…. None of the verbiage relates or ties back to the fact that White Heating opted to install a flimsy float switch and not a secondary drain line on the pan as the Lennox manual state as a must for all AC above a finished room/area. First time we haven’t had a secondary drain line on the ac. When I asked why a secondary drain line was not installed, I was told it is redundant. I thought that was the entire point of it - a redundancy fail safe. They mentioned maybe there wasn’t enough pitch or fall. Which can’t be as the units in the past (prior to white heating) all had a secondary drain line which worked flawlessly and the house hasn’t changed. I have someone else coming to get that corrected. Stuff happens, but when it is of this magnitude and you just spent ~ $7k with them over the past 6 yrs - you would think they would have the courtesy to stop by (1.1 miles from shop) and look at it before denying any possibility they might carry some responsibility for it.
So, end result, a 95 degree week and long waits for service - I schedule my last service request with white heating to simply get the unit back online. The service man arrived, bent down, picked up the float switch and said, I will mount it properly, plus install a new device that sits in the secondary pan and clear the drain line. Time to move on…. as my opinion (based on past few yrs) is the current ownership at White Heating doesn’t value the customer.

They installed an attic furnace that was a complcated installation. They always show what part of the unit failed for a repair. They have spare items on the truck. The guys from White Heating have done a good job keeping our older HVAC in our new to us house working. They are always very nice and the office keeps me updated if the tech is on time or got held up at a previous stop. The central air part of the system is starting to show it's age, though it is only 14 years old, so now begins the troubleshooting random issues phase. Hopefully it won't need two service calls per year while we decide on what and when a new system might look like.

Terrible hot water boiler installation!!! Stay away!!! We had White install a high efficiency hot water boiler for our radiator system in December 2023. After draining the system and installing the boiler, not all of the radiators came back on. They tried several times and then just walked away. In the middle of winter! And they missed installing a filter on the condensate drain line that puts acidic water into our drain pipes. My emails and phone calls were unanswered for months. I had to get another plumber to balance the radiators. In March they decided to call back because they wanted paid, never acknowledging their poor work. We did negotiate a deduction, but I decided to slow walk the payment (after they ignored my calls for months in winter) and they threatened to take me to the magistrate!! I paid them but will never use them again. White Heating: please post if you see the situation differently.

In both the air conditioner and hot water boiler installations, we followed normal construction contracting procedures and didn’t pay until the job was completed. By the time you contacted me in March and we negotiated a new cost for the boiler installation, I had hired another plumber to complete the project. You have now been paid in full. And as you said it is mutually agreed that you will no longer perform work for us.
The hot water boiler installation project was initiated because your company was in our home doing work on an annual preventative maintenance contract. Deficiencies were identified in our hot water boiler, White gave us a proposal, and we accepted. If we were such poor clients in 2020 then we did you continue to provide services to us and give us a proposal to do more work.

ABSOLUTELY recommend for all, but ESPECIALLY all the single moms out there who don't know anything about their gas furnace (like me!) White Heating is simply THE BEST - trustworthy, attentive, and fast! I had an emergency breakdown on a Friday with the 35-year-old furnace in my newly-purchased home, and temperatures were due to plunge into the teens and sub-freezing temps the next several nights. White immediately sent the nicest guy out to diagnose (needed a brand new furnace, as recommended by the fire department) the problem, and he educated me very clearly on the options available and differences between them. He was incredibly courteous, thoughtful, and thorough, PLUS he worked on his Saturday morning to finalize the design and order the parts.
By 8AM Monday, the crew showed up (on time!) to start the job. The installers were equally courteous and worked quickly and performed all of the quality tests necessary to ensure their job was complete.
What BLEW my MIND is that not once was I asked for a down payment, and I actually had to ask them for the invoice! This company is as trusting as it is trustworthy. Definitely my go-to for anything HVAC related (although hopefully now, with brand new systems in place, that won't be necessary except for regular maintenance!)
By 8AM Monday, the crew showed up (on time!) to start the job. The installers were equally courteous and worked quickly and performed all of the quality tests necessary to ensure their job was complete.
What BLEW my MIND is that not once was I asked for a down payment, and I actually had to ask them for the invoice! This company is as trusting as it is trustworthy. Definitely my go-to for anything HVAC related (although hopefully now, with brand new systems in place, that won't be necessary except for regular maintenance!)

I purchased a Lennox furnace/air condition unit September 4, 2019, because I thought it was top of the line. However, improper installation has resulted in a plethora of issues. Christmas Eve of 2022, I had no heat because water ran back into my furnace. Gary’s solution was to use a rubber strap to pull up the pipe in my garage; it worked. My air conditioner runs constantly but the temperature does not drop. It was 79 outside, I put my air-conditioning thermostat on 78. It took three hours to go down 1°. Yesterday, White’s best technician came out and said the unit is running as it should. If you think this is normal, buy from Whites. My neighbors bought an off brand heater/air unit for $3,000 less from another business, they have not had any problems. I’ve given Gary many opportunities to rectify the situation only to have it continue and receive another bill. At this point, I am cutting my losses and reaching out to another business to correct their mistakes. White Heating Inc. is five stars for sales and zero stars for installation and service.
